Chocolate Hemp Seed Bark Recipe

Video Transcript

Hi I'm Brad, the founder and CEO of Hippie Butter.

Welcome to Cooking with Hemp Seeds.

Here's a quick and easy way to make a healthy snack.

Ingredients: 6 Chocolate Bars, 1/2 Cup Almonds and 1/4 Cup Hippie Butter Hulled Hemp Seeds

Today we're making a Chocolate Hemp Bark out of Hershey's Chocolate Bars, that's what the kids like, Hippie Butter Hulled Hemp Seeds about a 1/4 cup or a little bit more, because I like them, and sliced raw almonds, fresh ones.

The chocolate must be melted very slowly. What you're trying to do is melt the chocolate, not heat the chocolate. I'm using a double boiler, which is warm water underneath and the bowl of chocolate on top. Stir it a lot, it does take a little bit of time but you'll be amazed at how fast it works.

The reason we're using the Hershey's Chocolate Bars instead of hemp chocolate is we're just passing these out to all the kids and they recognize Hershey's Chocolate, love the flavor, and we can trick them into good food that way.

Now hemp seeds are THC free, they are great for kids because they're high in Omega 3, high in Omega 6, high in protein, fiber and all the amino acids that they need.

Now while the chocolate's melting, take a glass plate, I use a pie plate, you can use a 13" by 9" cake pan if you want. It just matters how much chocolate you are making. I wrap it around with saran wrap, makes it easy to break the chocolate later when we break it into parts or bits.

Now the trick with this stuff is make a lot because it goes really fast, people Love this.

Going to add my almonds but leave some in the cup to add on top. Then I'm going to add my toasted hulled hemp seeds but I'm going to leave some of the Toasted Hulled Hemp Hearts to place on top. Then stir it all up.

You can add other ingredients like raisins, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, white chocolate, dark chocolate.. anything that you like.

Add it to our pan with the plastic. [pouring] I use a rubber spatula as you see because I can get all the chocolate back out.

Sprinkle on the almonds, and then the rest of the toasted hulled hemp seeds. I barely tap everything down just so it stays in.

What we're going to do now that it's all in the pan, set it off to the side so that it can completely cool. Then we're going to break it up into bite-sized pieces.

Now that the chocolate is completely cooled, we're going to pull it out. See how easily it comes out with the plastic. Look at that, it just looks good.

Now while holding onto the plastic, break-up the bark.

That's how you make Chocolate Hemp Seed Bark.
