Product Description

Hemp Seed Flour is nutritious, delicious and an excellent source of energy. In fact, Hemp Seed Flour contains 33% protein and is second only to soy in protein content; Hemp Seed Flour protein is more easily digested. Hippie Butter Hemp Seed Flour is a healthy dietary choice for anyone because there are no known allergies to Hemp Seeds. It's perfect for those who have nut, dairy, gluten or wheat allergies.

Our Hemp Seed Flour is produced by milling and sifting Hemp Seed Cake that is produced after crushing Hemp Seeds for oil. It's gluten-free and adds the delectable, nutty flavor of Hemp Seeds to your baked goods such as breads, muffins, cookies or waffles. Just substitute half the flour in your favorite recipes with Hemp Seed Flour. Hemp Seed Flour deepens the texture of bread, provides a nice serving of fiber, lots of omega essential fatty acids and increases the digestible protein.

Hemp Seed Flour is all-natural. We make it in small batches so it's super fresh. Our Hemp Seed Flour is made from raw ingredients to ensure the health-giving nutrients and enzymes haven't been zapped out by heating. This makes our Hemp Seed Flour super healthy.

Hemp Seed Flour is also a complete source of all 20 known amino acids including the 9 essential amino acids which our bodies cannot produce. Approximately 65% of the protein in Hemp Seeds is made up of the globulin protein, Edestin, and is found only in Hemp Seeds. Edestin aids digestion, is relatively phosphorus-free, and considered the backbone of the cell’s DNA. The other one third of Hemp Seed protein is Albumin, another high-quality globulin protein similar to that found in egg whites. Hemp protein is free of the tryspin-inhibitors - which block protein absorption, and free of oligosaccharides - found in soy that cause stomach upset and gas.

Hemp Seed Flour also provides an excellent supply of antioxidants (Vitamin E), carotene (precursor to Vitamin A), phytosterols, phospholipids and a number of minerals including calcium, magnesium, sulfur, potassium, phosphorus, along with modest amounts of iron and zinc. Hemp Seeds also provide a good source of chlorophyll.

Please refrigerate after opening to ensure freshness.

Hemp is a 10,000 year old "superfood" plant documented as having been cultivated for thousands of years. Today, hemp is widely used in food and other commercial and industrial products.

Hippie Butter Hemp Seed products are made from hemp seeds that are non-irradiated, non-allergenic, never hexane-processed, THC-free, pesticide-free, gluten-free, trypsin-inhibitor-free, Kosher, Vegan-Friendly and Vegan-Certified.

  1. Baking alternative to protein powder

Posted by Curtis S. Phinney, CNS on 24th May 2015

I tried hemp seed flour in place of [another brand] hemp protein powder. My current application is a relatively hard hemp based dog cookie treat. The lower moisture in the flour yields a drier biscuit, with lower edge deformation and crumbling, than the protein powder. I'm now buying this product by the case.

  2. Great addition to seitan

Posted by Kevin S. Clarke on 1st Apr 2015

This was my first time trying the hemp seed flour and I really like it. I put some into my home made seitan. I usually just use soy flour. But, with a little of the soy and hemp seed flours, the seitan came out with a nice falafel like flavor. Very tasty. I'll definitely try adding it to other things now as well (muffins, etc.) Thanks!

  3. Great Gluten Free alternative

Posted by Billy Yoder on 18th Oct 2014

I have food allergies that go beyond a celiac diet. Im allergic to the rice in the flour that most gluten free recipes use so this product has been a life saver for someone that hasnt had breadin years.

  4. Great service and product!

Posted by Paul on 5th Aug 2014

Fast shipping, great product, clean and nice packaging! The only thing I wish could be different is I don't see that the bag can be recycled. If you could add it would be awesome! Thanks!

  5. This flour is amazing!

Posted by Julie on 17th Apr 2014

I use this flour in place of almond flour in recipes as I have a tree-nut allergy and it works great!

  6. First Hemp product tried

Posted by Unknown on 28th Mar 2013

First time for me to use any Hemp products.

  7. Hemp crepes

Posted by Sue on 12th Nov 2012

I substituted 2 T. hemp flour for coconut flour in my crepes. They are perfect for wraps or spread with hemp butter and hemp cocoa butter.

  8. No Wheat, No Soy Flour for Trail Mix Cookies!

Posted by PedalOn on 27th Aug 2012

Love this healthy flour alternative for baking. Mixed it with walnuts, cranberries, sunflower seeds, and pumpkin seeds. Will have to try hemp seeds next time! Doesn't seem to spike blood sugar as much as wheat flour.

  9. I use it in brownies!

Posted by Unknown on 24th Aug 2012

This hippie butter hemp flour is awesome stuff! I run a business called Zest Chocolat and recently created a recipe for a Hemp Jalapeno brownie. Not only is this brownie gluten free, but it is packed full of protein. So far the brownie is a hit with my customers!

  10. Makes Bread Better

Posted by Ray W. on 12th Dec 2011

Adding this to a simple wheat bread recipe boosts up the nutritional facts astronomically with out weighing down the bread. Makes me look forward to a simple PB&J now.
